Aside from their obsession with black, most Melburnians are proud of that ‘hidden’ aspect that dominates most of the city’s coveted boutiques. The ‘find-me-if-you-can’ approach to retail is amusing (if not peculiar). This said, Oak off Chapel seem to have found all the ingredients for the perfect Melbourne hide-away. Off the street? Check. Penthouse Mouse is arguably one of Melbourne Street Fashion.com's most anticipated LMFF event. This year's opening proved once again why. Held in the old Naval and Millitary club; the venue was a labyrinth packed with lots of nooks and crannies, and had a wonderfully retro vibe. The wood panelled bar and old squash courts added a surprising element to the mix of the designers and artists whose work was on show.

Whether it be seen in their specific attention to detail or in their undeniably innovative attitude towards style; it’s apparent that those blue-eyed, blonde vixens are constantly giving us (less genetically blessed) Australians something to be very interested in.

Welcome to Smith St, Collingwood |
|
Smith St, Collingwood - or Fitzroy, depending on which side of the road you’re standing on - could best be described as a vagabond’s paradise. A slightly rough-around-the-edges little sister to Brunswick St and perpindicular to darling sweetheart Gertrude St; the strip offers a younger variety of diversity, rebellion and grunge that these others grew out of years ago.
